The house is on its own in an old neighborhood snuggled among gardens and other old buildings. It was built in 1900 as a stone, single level farm house. Later it had another floor added, and in the late 90s a bathroom was installed upstairs. The latest reconstruction of all of downstairs took place after the floods in 2023.
It sits off of the main road through a narrow alley just behind the original post-office building, now in a very pitiful condition. Please, look up the exact location on your navigation before arriving as the alley can be easily missed in the dark.
Parking: one parking spot right in front of the house (as shown on the picture bellow). More parking options are available either around the corner by the bridge across Savinja (by the new post office), or elsewhere in the village. There is limited space for vehicle maneuvering so, please, be aware!
Downstairs:
- an entryway with a shoe-bench and hangers.
- a full bathroom with a shower.
- a small pantry with a dryer (for clothes), more food items, clean bedding and sheets, cleaning supplies, some art making material.
- one large kitchen-dining-living room with an open hearth fireplace.
In the kitchen, there is a washing machine, a dishwasher, an oven and a large fridge/freezer. The stove top is an induction style, with hood (vent and light) above. We do not have a microwave oven. Other smaller appliances include a coffee machine (drip style), a coffee grinder, a toaster, and a cooking scale.
The dining table can comfortably sit 6-8 people, but a couple more can always squeeze in. (We've had 10+ around it). There is also a leather loveseat-couch with a coffee table.
Upstairs:
All sleepping is upstairs. There are two private bedrooms:
- one bedroom with a balcony and a queen size bed, bedside tables with lights and a clothes rack. There is a small table and two chairs on the balcony. Laundry can be hang to dry there.
- another bedroom with a bunkbed and another pullout bed on the floor, and a clothes rack.
Also upstairs:
- a full bathroom with a bathtub
- a living room and an adjoining sunroom. Each room has a couch with a hiding pullout bed (both queen size). The rooms can be divided, but the living room remains a walking-through space.
Upstairs is reached by a wooden staircase of 15 steps. Windows are equipped with exterior roll-down wooden blinds.
